Hazardous and electronic waste is strictly prohibited from being landfilled, and must be handled separately from trash and recyclables. This includes all paints, thinners, pesticides, motor oil, fluorescent tubes and electronics such as televisions, monitors, and VCRs.

We accept the following hazardous waste and e-waste free of charge in designated areas at our transfer station:

  • Electronics (TVs, computers, stereo equipment, cell phones, etc.)
  • Household and automotive batteries
  • Motor oil and oil filters
  • Antifreeze
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Sharps (syringes and hypodermic needles must be properly packaged and sealed in an approved, puncture-proof container to be accepted)

For other forms of hazardous or electronic waste, the MendoRecyle HazMobile offers hazardous waste collection to Ukiah residents every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 am to 2 pm. There is also a collection every second Saturday of the month.

Commercial businesses with hazardous waste require an appointment. Call (707) 468-9704 to schedule your appointment.
